At Kaiser Permanente we improve the health of our members, employees, communities and the environment by increasing access to fresh, healthy food in and around our facilities.
Food Brand Standards create an environment that makes the healthy choice the easy choice. The Nutrition Standards define healthy food options in food venues throughout Kaiser Permanente, including patient menus, cafeteria, vending machines, catering, smart markets, food kiosks, coffee and food retail spaces, gift shops and farmers markets.

This document outlines food guidelines for all Kaiser Permanente food venues, including nutrition standards, compliance targets, definitions by food category and marketing & promotion strategies.
This one-page overview is a tool that can be used to guide implement of the nutrition standards in your operations. It can serve as quick reference for foods that are allowed, not allowed and compliance target references for each food type.
